[Case Study] Upgrade of High-Temperature Material Testing Equipment

We support UCF in conducting mechanical tests in extreme environments.

The University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando has built a reputation for high-quality education and technological innovation since its establishment in 1963. In particular, the MMAE at UCF has established solid partnerships over the years with global manufacturers such as Siemens Power Generation, Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, and Mitsubishi Power System, as well as institutions like the Kennedy Space Center. UCF has set a policy to expand its high-temperature materials testing facilities, making this field a cornerstone of research at the university. To enhance mechanical testing capabilities at high temperatures, it was necessary to equip a variety of instruments and tools, including load frames, control systems, and software, requiring a testing solution partner with expertise in integrating advanced systems. MTS was chosen for this purpose. Upgrading the material characterization testing facilities in MMAE has brought significant benefits not only to the engineering students but also to UCF's commercial partners. ■IEC 62471 Evaluation UL is accredited as a CB testing laboratory for the international standard IEC 62471 concerning the photobiological safety of LEDs and lamps.
